We combine microscopic crowd simulation with a psychological layer.
Simulating collective cooperation of agents allows for new insights compared to just using classical locomotion models which usually assume a crowd to stream unidirectional towards a target. Collective cooperation enables the creation of scenarios including, e.g. a first-aid attendant forging a path through a densely packed group.
With psychological models, one can create new scenarios which help in understanding how pedestrians react in situations of a perceived threat.
